THEFT OF WATER METER

Week-long surveillance by the local police finally paid-off as they neutralized “Baklas Gang” during a follow-up operation in Brgy San Miguel, this municipality around 1:00 in the morning of September 16, 2008. The group which was known for its notoriety in dismantling and stealing water meters was put into covert monitoring after intelligence reports disclosed that its members were responsible in the series of water meter theft in the different barangays of Hagonoy. The said operation emanated from a report from a concerned citizen that the group was seen dismantling water meters in the above-mentioned barangay.

Arrest of Illegal Drugs Peddler

A notorious illegal-drug peddlers finally fell into the hands of the law as he was arrested by operatives from Hagonoy Police Station during a buy-bust operation conducted on August 21, 2008 around 5:00 in the afternoon in Brgy San Agustin, this municipality. The suspect who was identified as Benedicto Banaag y Manuel @DEK was nabbed after selling “dried marijuana leaves” to a poseur buyer. Confiscated from him were more or less 80 grams of “dried marijuana leaves” and the marked money used in the said operation. Criminal complaints for violation of sections 5 and 11, Article 2 of RA 9165 were filed against the suspect.
